Dear Member and fellow angler,
I hope you are keeping well.

Membership Renewal 2024 and last season’s catch return

Renewal invitations for membership of the Association for 2024 should have reached you by now. Fees are due on the 1st January. Due to prudent finances and buoyant membership, I am pleased to inform you that Committee has decided to freeze renewal costs. Due to low take up of the “Summer Ticket” this option has been removed which stops confusion and simplifies membership with just the overwhelmingly popular “Full Ticket” available which provides excellent value of all year access (subject to individual beat rules). We continue to offer discounted membership for students and free membership for those under 16 years.

To summarise:

Summer Ticket (previously A) – DISCONTINUED

Full Ticket (previously C) – Access 1st January to 31st December, all beats (subject to individual beat rules): £105

Student Ticket – 50% discount on Full Ticket for any person aged 16 years or over in full time education.

Junior Ticket aged 13 to 15 inclusive – Free.

Child Ticket aged under 13 – Free with an adult’s Full Ticket and must fish accompanied by the adult ticket holder.

When renewing your membership please ensure you enclose your 2023 catch return even if nil which is important for our records and a stamped addressed A5 envelope for your membership ticket and beat maps to be sent back to you. This helps keep our costs down. Thank you.

Annual General Meeting 2024

The Launceston Anglers Annual General Meeting to be held in The Tamar Room, Arundel Arms Hotel, Lifton PL16 0AA at 7.30pm Thursday 18th January 2024.

Business to go through will include previous minutes, approval of the last year’s Association accounts, Chairman’s report and election of the full Committee. The majority of the Committee intend to stand for re-election but LAA does have one vacancy to fill on committee to support the beat maintenance sub-committee and /or administration support. I hope that Westcountry Rivers Trust and the Environment Agency will join us to give an update on their work in the Tamar Catchment.

Refreshments will be available at the hotel bar and a light buffet will be provided after the meeting.

I trust you find the above agreeable and on behalf of the LAA Committee may I wish you a happy new year and look forward to seeing you at the AGM in the New Year

Yours truly
Martin Harmer, Chairman,
Launceston Anglers Association
